This weekend, I'm attending a very important conference in Copenhagen, The Role of Women in Global Security, arranged by the US Embassy in Copenhagen and with keynote speakers such as Hilary Clinton and Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
But most of all, I will meet my good friend Simone Aaberg Kaern, danish artist and pilot who flew all the way from Denmark to Afghanistan in a tiny aeroplane to meet the countrys' only two female helicopter pilots. Sisters, one of them now deceased in childbirth (!). The second one, Cap Latifa Nabizada, will also attend the conference and speak about increasing female participation in Military and Security Forces. I've wanted to meet with her for over two years. Finally! True heroines.
