På fredag tas beslutet i Riksdagen som möjliggör att Sverige aktivt går in och upprätthåller den FN-sanktionerade flygförbudszonen över Libyen. Insatsen består av högst åtta Jas 39 Gripen som nu står beredda att omgående lyfta från flottiljen F17 i Kallinge. Personalstyrkan är dimensionerad till ca 130 personer. Riksdagsledamot Annicka Engblom, moderat ledamot i försvarsutskottet, kommer under fredagen att besöka den svenska Libyenstyrkan på F17.

Sweden contributes in Libya
In half an hours time, I will be in a meeting with the combined Committee on Foreign Affaires and Defense, solemnly put together for deciding upon swedish participance to the UN mission in Libya. For upholding the non-flyzone, Sweden will contribute with Combat Air Fighters JAS 39 Gripen plus airfueling capacity. NATO Secretary General, Mr Anders Fogh Rasmussen, will attend the meeting.

Last stop New York
The last stop on this journey across the States will be New York. It's early morning right now in San Fransisco, my travellling companions are a bit tired and we are soon to be boardning the bus to the Airport. I'll get back with more info during the day.
